-Lives east of Shinjuku Station. Home is a sprawling, traditional Japanese-style home, with her mother and grandmother.
-Parents are divorced, father estranged.
-Mother Makino Rumiko, a successful fashion model in her late 20s. She gave birth to Ruki at age 18.
-Ruki is a tournament-level player for the Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon TCG games. Currently ranked National Champion in the latter for her age bracket.
